Blast in bus terminal in Philippine south, 13 hurt

MANILA, May 18 (Reuters) - Thirteen people were hurt when a powerful blast ripped through a crowded bus terminal in the southern Philippines on Friday, police said.

The explosion occurred in a busy street in downtown Cotabato City, said Joel Goltiao, police chief of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. The city is the political and economic hub of Muslim autonomous region in the mainly Roman Catholic country.
