Earthquake hits Mexico's Pacific coast

(Corrects to Gulf of California from Gulf of Mexico in paragraph 2) MEXICO CITY, Sept 1 (Reuters) - A strong earthquake hit Mexico's Pacific Coast on Saturday, but no damage was immediately reported. The epicenter of the 6.3-magnitude earthquake was in the Gulf of California, 61 miles (99 km) from Los Mochis in the state of Sinaloa, at a depth of 35 miles (56 km), the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
