Propane pipeline blast kills two in Mississippi

(Adds details, comments from Enterprise spokesman) NEW YORK, Nov 1 (Reuters) - A propane pipeline explosion in Clarke Country, Mississippi on Thursday killed two people and caused an evacuation in a one mile (1.6 km) radius. A spokesman for Enterprise Products Partners LP <EPD.N>, which owns the the 12-inch (30.5 cm) Dixie Pipeline, said it was still burning. Dixie has a 35,000 barrel per day capacity. "Emergency responders are reporting at least two fatalities and five homes damaged or destroyed as a result of the explosion," the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said in a press statement. MEMA had initially said it was a 42 inch pipeline. The line runs from Mont Belvieu, Texas, to Apex, North Carolina, the Enterprise spokesman said. The blast occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. local time (1530 GMT).
