MEXICO CITY, Oct 2 (Reuters) - Small bombs went off on Monday at three banks in the southern Mexican city of Oaxaca, where protesters seeking the resignation of the state governor have barricaded streets.

The attorney-general's office said the bombs hit branches of Mexican bank Banorte, Spain's Santander <SAN.MC> and Banamex, owned by Citibank <C.N>. No one was wounded.

Television pictures showed minor damage and graffiti calling on Oaxaca state Gov. Ulises Ruiz to resign scrawled on the outside of one of the banks.

Protesters trying to oust Ruiz have paralyzed the city center with barricades and sit-ins in a conflict that began four months ago with a teachers' strike.

Local leftist and Indian groups have joined the teachers and the federal government of President Vicente Fox is trying to mediate in the conflict.
