Moderate quake hits off Guatemala Pacific coast

GUATEMALA CITY, Dec 3 (Reuters) - A moderate earthquake struck off the Pacific coast of Guatemala on Sunday and was felt strongly in the Central American country's western highlands, although no damage was immediately reported. The U.S. Geological Survey reported on its Web site that a 5.8 magnitude quake struck at 3:52 p.m. EST (2052 GMT) 60 miles (100 km) south-west of the capital Guatemala City. Eddie Sanchez, director of Guatemalan geological center Insivumeh said there were no reports of damage.
