Tropical Storm Gabrielle forms off U.S. coast

MIAMI, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Tropical Storm Gabrielle formed on Friday off the U.S. mid-Atlantic Coast with top sustained winds of 45 mph (72 kph), the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

Gabrielle is the seventh named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season and was about 385 miles (625 km) southeast of Cape Lookout, North Carolina. A tropical storm watch was issued for portions of the North Carolina and South Carolina coasts.
