6.1 magnitude quake strikes southern Peru

WASHINGTON, July 8 (Reuters) - A 6.1 magnitude earthquake rattled southern Peru on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter of the quake was located 33 miles (53 km) north-northwest of Arequipa, Peru, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was recorded at a depth of 46 miles (74 km).
