Paloma downgraded to tropical storm-NHS

WASHINGTON, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Paloma was downgraded to a tropical storm on Sunday as it moved across Cuba, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said. At 7 a.m. (1200 GMT), the center of Paloma was located near Camaguey, Cuba, and the storm had winds of near 70 mph (110 kph). It was moving north-northeast near 5 mph (7 kph), NHS said. The center of Paloma should be near the north coast of Cuba later on Sunday and be approaching the central Bahamas by Monday morning, NHS said. Paloma came ashore in Cuba on Saturday as a Category 3 hurricane on the five-step Saffir-Simpson intensity scale with winds of 120 mph (195 kph).
