US judge dismisses case of Guantanamo prisoner

WASHINGTON, Dec 13 (Reuters) - A Guantanamo prisoner who won a landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling in June lost a legal challenge of his detention on Wednesday when a federal judge dismissed the case, citing an anti-terrorism law recently signed by President George W. Bush. U.S. District Judge James Robertson handed a victory to the Bush administration and ruled the law removed federal court jurisdiction over the case involving Salim Ahmed Hamdan, a Guantanamo prisoner who was Osama bin Laden's driver in Afghanistan.
