NEW YORK, Dec 14 (Reuters) - NiSource Inc. <NI.N> declared force majeure late Friday on Line 100 of its Columbia Gulf natural gas pipeline after an explosion in northern Louisiana, near the town of Delhi, shut a portion of the system, the company said in a Web site posting.

In addition, the company said Lines 200 and 300 were taken out of service for evaluation, but it expected Line 300 to be back in service sometime Friday night, restoring some deliveries.

"Currently no gas is flowing through this portion of the pipeline system," the company posting said. (Reporting by Joe Silha; Editing by Marguerita Choy)
