Bush to announce troop increase for Afghanistan

WASHINGTON, Feb 15 (Reuters) - President George W. Bush will announce an increase in U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan in a speech on Thursday, a senior administration official said.

The official, without giving a specific number, said the increase was in preparation for an expected spring offensive from Taliban fighters in Afghanistan.
