Magnitude 6.0 quake hits northern Chile-USGS

WASHINGTON, Feb 16 (Reuters) - A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck northern Chile on Saturday about 105 miles (170 km) northeast of Calama, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The quake struck at 1445 GMT at a depth of 83 miles (134 km), the survey said.

The region has experienced several tremors of similar strength in recent months.
