(Updates with verified magnitude of 6.0) WASHINGTON, Dec 25 (Reuters) - A magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit northern Japan on Tuesday, 62 miles (100 km) northeast of the city of Sendai, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. It said the quake struck 30 miles (48 km) deep off the eastern coast of the main island of Honshu at 11:04 p.m. (1404 GMT). The quake was initially reported as a magnitude 6.2 but was later revised to 6.0. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center did not issue an immediate tsunami warning and no details of any casualties or damage were available.(Reporting by Sandra Maler, Editing by Stuart Grudgings)
