Oct 29 (Reuters) - Following are security and other developments in Iraq as of 0845 GMT on Sunday.

BAGHDAD - Police found 25 bodies with signs of torture and bullet wounds in different parts of Baghdad over the last 24 hours, interior ministry sources said.

DIWANIYA - Gunmen shot dead Maitham Taqi al-Asadi, a translator working with U.S. forces near his house in Diwaniya, 180 km (112 miles) south of Baghdad, on Saturday, police said.

KUT - Gunmen attacked the house of a former military Brigadier, Nasir al-Sadoun, killing his son and three of his relatives in Kut, 170 km (105 miles) south of Baghdad, on Saturday, police said.

BALAD - Gunmen clashed with the Iraqi army on Saturday, killing three soldiers and wounding four in Tal al-Thahab village near Balad, 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

KUT - Gunmen shot dead a policeman near a checkpoint in Kut. 170 km (105 miles) south of Baghdad on Saturday, police said.

MUQDADIYA - Gunmen shot dead two civilians in Muqdadiya, 90 km (50 miles) north east of Baghdad, on Saturday, police said.

BAQUBA - Gunmen killed three people and seriously wounded two, including a police major, in two different incidents on Saturday in Baquba, 65 km (40 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - U.S. forces and Iraqi police killed 17 suspected insurgents and arrested three suspects near Balad 80 km (50 miles) north of Baghdad, the U.S. military said in a statement.

KIRKUK - A roadside bomb exploded near a police patrol, seriously wounding two people, including a policeman, in the centre of the northern oil city of Kirkuk, police said.
