BEIJING, May 21 (Reuters) - A woman was rescued nine days after being trapped by a huge earthquake in southwest China, state media reported on Wednesday.

Cui Changhui was found in a tunnel of a hydropower plant in the town of Hongbai near the epicentre of the May 12 tremor, Xinhua news agency said.

Pu Jinhui, a doctor who treated her, said she had suffered multiple fractures in her right arm, ribs and lower back, Xinhua reported, adding she had been airlifted to a nearby hospital.

The number of dead and missing was raised to 74,000 on Wednesday, with a further 247,000 hurt. (Editing by Roger Crabb)
