BEIJING, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Eleven Chinese workers were killed by a fire in their company dormitory on Thursday near the coastal city of Qingdao, Xinhua news agency said on Thursday.

Ten were injured, it said. An investigation at the food-processing company was under way.

Fires at dormitories can be especially dangerous in China, because companies often lock exits to prevent thieves from entering or workers from leaving. (Reporting by Lucy Hornby; Editing by Nick Macfie)
