Chinese truck crash kills 28 on way to banquet

BEIJING, May 15 (Reuters) - A truck loaded with passengers ran off a bridge into a river in southwest China on Thursday, killing 28 people and injuring 15, state media said.

Some 43 passengers on the truck were on their way to a banquet when the accident happened in Guiding county, Guizhou province, Xinhua news agency said.

Most of the passengers were from the same village, it said.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
