BEIJING, May 24 (Reuters) - Lightning struck an elementary school in southwest China killing seven children and injuring 40 pupils and teachers, Chinese media reported on Thursday. The accident happened during a rain storm on Wednesday at a village school in Chongqing municipality, the Beijing Morning Post said.

All the injured, including two teachers, were taken to hospital where five were in serious condition, it said.
