BEIJING, Feb 13 (Reuters) - Chief delegates to six-party talks in Beijing trying to rein in North Korea's nuclear weapons met early on Tuesday and agreed to meet again later in the day.

Talks had made some progress but more discussion was needed, a Chinese official told reporters.

A South Korean official had said earlier such talks would be indication that a final draft would be adopted.

The United States and North Korea haggled on Monday and into the night over energy aid the North would receive in exchange for ending its nuclear arms ambitions as six-party talks looked likely to straggle into an extra day.

Protesters participate in a rally opposing annual military exercises between South Korea and the United States, near the U.S. embassy in Seoul March 13, 2007. About 29,000 U.S. troops and tens of thousands of South Korean forces will participate in the Reception, Staging, Onward movement and Integration (RSOI)/Foal Eagle (FE) exercises scheduled from March 25-31. Protesters insisted that the joint drills are in preparation for an aggressive war against North Korea and demanded to stop it.
