BEIJING, June 3 (Reuters) - Eleven people died and 57 were injured on Sunday when a truck carrying people to a Chinese trade fair overturned in the southwest province of Yunnan, Xinhua news agency said.

The accident happened in Kafang town, Gejiu City, just three hours after an earthquake struck elsewhere in the province, killing at least three people and injuring nearly 300.

The truck, carrying 71 people, rolled as it tried to mount a pavement, leaving 11 passengers dead at the scene and 57 injured, seven seriously.

Nearly 99,000 people were killed in 450,000 traffic accidents in China last year, state media has reported.
