As authorities in Iran seek to crush the latest street protests in Iran, FRONTLINE/World's iWitness series will interview a journalist just released from a stint in an Iranian prison. (Friday 1pm EST). Photojournalist Iason Athanasiadis was reporting on the post election protests for the Washington Times and the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting when he was arrested three weeks ago.  After international outcry, he was released from custody earlier this week and deported to Greece.

Athanasiadis had a traveling photo exhibition last summer in the United States focusing on Iranian youth culture called "The Children of The Revolution" and should have a quite a perspective on the fledgling street protests. We'll talk to him about his two weeks in solitary confinement at a facility that holds many political prisoners and his experience being interrogated by Iranian authorities.

Twitter or email us your questions for Iason and we will ask him some of those as well. And check out this great backgrounder on Athansiadis in Salon by Sandy Tolan. http://www.salon.com/opinion/feature/2009/07/02/iran_detained_journalist/
