SEOUL, July 30 (Reuters) - The following is a summary of major South Korean newspapers on Monday, prepared by Reuters in Seoul. Reuters has not checked the stories and does not guarantee their accuracy.

CHOSUN ILBO

- The family of Bae Hyung-kyu, who was killed by Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan, said they will postpone his funeral until the remaining 22 hostages return to South Korea safely.

DONG-A ILBO

- Choi Chi-hoon, former executive of General Electric Co.'s <GE.N> energy unit, GE Energy, has been appointed as a high-ranking executive at Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. <005930.KS> starting next month, according to a Samsung Electronics official.

- Hyundai Merchant Marine Co. Ltd. <011200.KS> said it has established corporations in Vietnam and Italy recently.

JOONGANG ILBO

- A South Korean hostage identified as Lee Ji-young told the JoongAng Ilbo she is being held by Taliban insurgents in a civilian house and is with two women and one man.

MAEIL BUSINESS NEWSPAPER

- LG Philips LCD <034220.KS> is considering using the eighth-generation motherglass standard, the same as Samsung Electronics' standard, according to a display industry source.
