SEOUL, May 15 (Reuters) - The following is a summary of major South Korean newspapers on Tuesday, prepared by Reuters in Seoul. Reuters has not checked the stories and does not guarantee their accuracy.

CHOSUN ILBO

- The Jeju provincial government has decided to accept the defence ministry's plan to build a naval base on Jeju Island, according to Jeju governor Kim Tae-hwan.

- Park Moon-deok, chairman of Hite-Jinro Group, parent of Hite <000140.KS>, said he will aggressively push into the Chinese liquor market by setting up a corporation in China within the year.

DONG-A ILBO

- Prosecutors said they are looking into whether 10 sons of former and current ministers received easier assignments during their mandatory military service in return for favours.

JOONGANG ILBO

- The unification ministry said it will spend 2 billion won ($2.17 million) to set up an organisation next week to help provide $80 million worth of light-industry goods to North Korea and develop its underground resources.

MAEIL BUSINESS NEWSPAPER

- Hansung Airlines said it is in the process of forming a strategic alliance with a foreign investor and is expecting to complete its plans to run international flights within the second half of the year.
