HEADLINES - Musharraf says to end emergency rule on Dec. 16. - Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif says after meeting opposition colleagues they have decided "in principle" to boycott Jan. 8 general election; says will consult rival Benazir Bhutto and aims to reach final decision at all-party conference. - Musharraf sworn in as president for second term, this time as civilian leader after quitting as army chief. - Police clash with lawyers in Lahore.
