BEIJING, Dec 26 (Reuters) - Two powerful earthquakes off southern Taiwan on Tuesday that triggered fears of a tsunami had not caused any significant damage in China, an official at the State Seismological Bureau said. "We've received no reports of damage, deaths or tsunamis," the official said. "There's nothing to suggest that at the moment." The U.S. Geological Service said the first quake of 7.1 magnitude occurred at 1226 GMT, followed by another of magnitude 7.0 eight minutes later. The depths of both were 10 km (six miles) under the ocean floor, it said. The epicentres were more than 300 km (190 miles) from the Chinese mainland. The quakes were also felt in Hong Kong but there were no reports of damage in the city, the Hong Kong Observatory said. (Reporting by Ben Blanchard and Vivi Li in Beijing and Donny Kowk in Hong Kong)
