MANILA, Oct 13 (Reuters) - The Philippine House of Representatives has approved 12 billion pesos ($258 million) to fund relief and reconstruction after a series of devastating typhoons, lawmakers said on Tuesday.
They said the House adopted the resolution late on Monday, while the Senate will begin discussing the move on Tuesday. Once the upper house approves the measure, it will be law.
The sourcing of the funds is yet to be decided, lawmakers said.
Finance Secretary Margarito Teves has said the government was prepared for more foreign debt issues to fund possible extra spending this year. [ID:nMAN488295]
