Magnitude 7.1 quake hits near Guam - Japan agency

TOKYO, Sept 30 (Reuters) - A strong earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 7.1 hit near the U.S. territory of Guam in the Pacific Ocean on Sunday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

The quake, at a depth of 30 km, occurred at 11:09 a.m. Japan time (0209 GMT) near the island, the agency said on its Web site (www.jma.go.jp/en/quake)
