Volunteers distribute AIDS awareness materials on World AIDS Day in Beijing December 1, 2007. An estimated 700,000 people are living with HIV/AIDS in China, with the rates of infections slowing this year. But China's efforts to prevent HIV/AIDS-related discrimination have failed to stamp out "widespread" stigmatisation of sufferers, United Nations officials said this week.
