WASHINGTON, July 9 (Reuters) - The Bush administration has not exhausted the use of diplomacy to convince Iran to give up its nuclear program, a senior U.S. official said on Wednesday.

"We view force as an option that is on the table but a last resort," U.S. Under Secretary of State for political affairs, William Burns, told the House of Representatives foreign affairs committee.

"We do not believe we have exhausted all the diplomatic possibilities," he said. (Reporting by Susan Cornwell; Editing by Kristin Roberts)
