In its third-quarter round for 2008, the WFP All-Staff Competition in Photo, Video and Story has produced a new level of collegial competition in capturing some of the people, places and compelling experiences of the deep field.

They include Rocky Oishi’s notes on a journey in northern Mali, Peter Transburg’s video record of a welcoming dance in Mozambique, and Sven Thelin’s arresting of an Afghani beneficiary, which you see at top of this page. (For other winning photos, click here)

We offer these winning entries here for the distinctive insights they bring us from the very heart of WFP’s interface with the world we serve. And we congratulate these staffers for their success in going the extra mile to provide us with these special glimpses from our work on the ground.
