A Red Cross official walks past the burnt area of an oil pipeline explosion in which at least 45 people were burned to death when fuel they were siphoning from a buried pipeline caught fire in Abagbo village, on the outskirts of Lagos, December 26, 2007. Such disasters are frequent in Nigeria, Africa's most populous country and top exporter of crude oil. Nine out of 10 Nigerians live on less than $2 per day and many are prepared to take huge risks to obtain free fuel. REUTERS/Akintunde Akinleye (NIGERIA)
