Laura Charry, daughter of Carlos Charry, one of provincial lawmakers kidnapped by FARC rebels, is helped in Cali June 28, 2007. Colombian President Alvaro Uribe on Thursday accused leftist rebels of murdering 11 kidnapped lawmakers last week while the guerrillas said they were killed during a raid on their secret jungle prison. The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, said the 11 were cut down in the crossfire when an unidentified military group attacked the camp on June 18.

Gustavo Moncayo (C), father of Colombian soldier Pablo Emilio Moncayo, walks with supporters in Jamundi, Valle province, in this picture taken on June 29, 2007. Moncayo has become a hero to thousands of families of kidnap victims since he started his hike across Colombia in June, calling for a swap of rebel hostages for guerrillas held in government jails. His son, Pablo Emilio, was captured when guerrillas from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, attacked an army post in 1997, shortly before his 19th birthday. Moncayo has heard nothing of him for more than four years. Picture taken June 29, 2007.
