People hold photographs of victims of the 1976 bombing of a Cuban airliner during a vigil outside the the U.S. diplomatic mission in Havana April 20, 2007. Cuba accused the U.S. government on Friday of protecting anti-Castro exile Luis Posada Carriles blamed for the bombing of the airliner, blasts in Havana hotels and plots to kill Fidel Castro. Posada Carriles, a former CIA operative, was freed on bail on Thursday from a U.S. prison in New Mexico pending trial on immigration charges.

Police remove a group of citizens from the Congress in Valparaiso, west of Santiago, June 6, 2007. The group was demonstrating against the Senate's approval of a petition to present to the Cuban government against political persecution and imprisonment on ideological grounds in the island nation.The group consisted of socialist sympathizers and parents whose children are studying in Cuba.
