People move to safer places in a flood-affected area of Nack Kati village in Coochbehar district, about 165 km (103 miles) north of the northeastern Indian city of Siliguri August 30, 2008. Floods have killed more than 1,000 people in South Asia since the monsoon began in June, mainly in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh, where 785 people lost their lives, while other deaths were reported from Nepal and Bangladesh.
