Joachim Hauber (R) and his wife Ilona, molecular biologists of Heinrich Pette Institute for Experimental Virology and Immunology at the University of Hamburg, display a culture with 'Tre' enzyme at the institute in Hamburg July 2, 2007. A team of scientists from the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden and the Heinrich Pette Institute in Hamburg created a custom enzyme 'Tre' that removes the HIV virus from the infected cells by recognising and then recombining the structure of the viruss DNA.
