A British soldier and Afghan policeman secure the area of a suicide attack in Kabul August 18, 2009. A suicide car bomber attacked a convoy of foreign troops on a major road in the east of the Afghan capital on Tuesday, two days before presidential elections, police and witnesses said. A Reuters reporter saw thick black smoke rising from the area and police rushing what appeared to be two badly wounded people from the scene of the attack, on the road linking Kabul with the eastern city of Jalalabad.
