Protesters chant slogans at a rally held to oppose visiting U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who was meeting with his South Korean counterpart Kim Tae-young, in front of South Korea's defence ministry in Seoul October 22, 2009. Gates said on Thursday he is moving ahead with a decision on whether to send more U.S. troops to Afghanistan and he would first tell the president before a NATO defence ministers gathering in Bratislava. Gates, speaking in Seoul after meetings with South Korean officials, gave no indication of what his decision may be regarding troop deployments.
