Village headman Manuensse Domingo (3rd L) talks to Mozambique Red Cross volunteers in Nhambalo in this January 13, 2008 picture. As many as 2,000 people were evacuated from their riverside homes because of recent flooding and the population of some small villages around the Zambezi riverside town of Caia has virtually doubled as people move up from the river banks. The Mozambique Red Cross has fielded more than 400 volunteers in several affected provinces to assist with emergency evacuations and provisions. Picture taken January 13, 2008.
