Ivorian rebels turn in their weapons during a demobilisation ceremony for former rebel fighters in the rebel stronghold of Bouake, some 400 km (249 miles) from Abidjan, May 2, 2008. More than 1,000 former rebels in Ivory Coast joined a disarmament process on Friday aimed at reuniting a country split in two by a civil war in time for long-delayed elections due on November 30.
