The Chilean military helped Chaiten residents return to the town for the first time on Wednesday, since Chaiten Volcano erupted on May 2 spewing ash, gas and molten rock for the first time in thousands of years, to check the condition of their homes and recover their belongings. Experts have said the volcano could erupt at a less volatile pace for months and even years. REUTERS/Ivan Alvarado (CHILE)
