Smoke rises from Chaiten volcano as a member of Chilean armed forces military talks by mobile phone at Chaiten town, located some 1220 km (760 miles) south of Santiago May 4, 2008. Covered in thick ash, the Patagonian community of Chaiten was a ghost town on Saturday as a volcano spewed ashes a day after its first eruption in thousands of years forced nearly 4,500 people to flee.
