An Afghanistan flag waves as a banner depicting Italian journalist Daniele Mastrogiacomo hangs at the mayor's offices at Campidoglio square in Rome March 8, 2007. Italian newspaper La Repubblica has denied that one of its journalists who was kidnapped by the Taliban in Afghanistan was a spy. A Taliban spokesman said on Tuesday that Mastrogiacomo, 52, had confessed to spying for British troops after being picked up in the lawless Helmand province. The banner reads, "With Daniele Mastrogiacomo for his freedom".
