Ted Hayakaze, the father of Michael Hayakaze who was killed in Afghanistan, reacts during ceremonies marking Remembrance Day at the Japanese Monument in Vancouver, British Columbia November 11, 2008. Michael Hayakaze was killed by a roadside bomb while serving with the Lord Strathcona Horse regiment in Afghanistan in March of this year. The Japanese Monument was erected after World War I to honour the 190 Japanese-Canadian soldiers who fought in the war. Michael's father traveled from their home in Edmonton to attend the ceremony.
