A medic carries a critically ill would-be immigrant baby from an Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) helicopter to a waiting ambulance at Mater Dei General Hospital outside Valletta September 9, 2008. Twenty-eight would be immigrants were rescued by an AFM coastal patrol vessel when their boat capsized 72 miles south of Malta while on their way to reach European soil from Africa, authorities said.
