The body of a would-be immigrant is lowered off an Armed Forces of Malta patrol boat onto the quay at the Maritime Squadron base at Haywharf in Valletta's Marsamxett Harbour June 30, 2007. Twenty would-be immigrants were rescued by an Icelandic trawler, the "Eyborg", when their boat capsized some 70 nautical miles north of Libya while on their way to reach European soil from Africa. Up to ten other immigrants are believed to have drowned when the boat capsized, an army spokesman said.

A man holds up a placard during a protest in Valletta against the Maltese government for not doing more to help resolve the case of the six foreign medics on death row in Libya July 12, 2007. Libya's Supreme Court upheld death sentences on Wednesday against six foreign medics for infecting Libyan children with HIV, but officials said they could win a reprieve next week.
