A demonstrator shouts slogans during a protest in Damietta city, 200 km northeast of Cairo, June 17, 2008. More than 2,000 demonstrators marched to local government offices on Tuesday to demand a halt in the construction of a nearby fertiliser plant. Construction of the plant, an $850 million joint Egyptian-Canadian project by a new company called E-Agrium, has already begun on the nearby island of Ras al-Barr, one of Egypt's most popular tourist resorts.
