Location : Lebanon Duration: 6 months renewable I. Organization description: ACTED (Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development) is an apolitical and non-confessional international relief agency created in Afghanistan. The first projects were initiated in Kabul in 1993 to bring relief to populations affected by more than 15 years of conflict. As of today, ACTED is active on 4 continents and in 17 countries. The organization employs approximately 110 international staff and more than 2000 national staff. The headquarters for the organization are located in Paris (France). ACTED develops about 150 projects a year in such diversified activities as Emergency Relief, Food Security, Health Promotion Network, Economic Development, Education and training, Microfinance, Advocacy - Institutional Support and Regional Dialogue, and Cultural promotion. II. Profile and Responsibilities: In order to coordinate its future operations in Lebanon, ACTED is seeking an experienced candidate for the position of Country Director. The Country Director will have the following responsibilities: Coordinate and manage ACTED's operations at country level Coordinate on-going assessments in Lebanon Propose new programs Liaise with donors Report to donors and to headquarters Manage expatriate and local human resources III. Qualifications required: Previous experience in a high management position in an NGO Project management experience in emergency programs Strong organizational skills Strong negotiation and interpersonal abilities Extensive fundraising and representational experience Proven capabilities in leadership required Excellent skills in written and oral English IV. Conditions : Salaried status Salary according to experience + living allowance Accommodation, food and transportation ensured by ACTED Insurances, repatriation covered by ACTED V.
