£18,500 net pa + allowances (6 month fixed-term contract, Unaccompanied) Nyala, South Darfur The Role To manage the development and implementation of humanitarian interventions being developed under the South Darfur programme plan, capacity build the Protection Team, and in particular the Team Leader. The role will initiate development plan for Protection Team leader to fill the identified development needs. Work with Oxfam's Area Managers, Public Health and Livelihoods teams to come up with strategic and practical steps to address protection concerns of Darfur populations. The role will also act as a focal point for inter-agency coordination on protection concerns and contribute to inter-agency initiatives, engage in constructive liaison with local government authorities, and other stakeholders as appropriate, to meet project objectives. Network and interact with main actors involved in mitigating the Darfur conflict, facilitate consistent information flow on humanitarian protection. The role will also ensure consistent and thorough monitoring and documentation of interventions develop proposals and project budgets as necessary to meet project resource needs.budgets as necessary to meet project resource needs. The Person You must have relevant experience in project management in conflict situations. Substantial experience and knowledge of the international humanitarian and development sectors. You should have a strong capacity building and analytical ability, good understanding of human rights standards and humanitarian principles. Possess a desire and ability to engage in gender-sensitive programming and respect for equal opportunities. Creativity; with ideas, approaches and means to practically apply principles to deliverable field programming is also needed. Knowledge and experience with community organising and participative appraisal, planning and problem-solving techniques.Additionally, strong written and oral communication, people management and problem solving skills are essential for this role.
