Description:At The Mines Advisory Group, we work in and with communities devastated by the long-term effects of human conflict to remove the dangers of landmines and unexploded ordnance and to help redevelop that community and its economic potential. We need an experienced individual with strong financial management skills to manage our UK finance operations. Reporting to Director of Finance you will lead the development of the UK Finance Team, take full responsibility for all aspects of the charity's accounting systems, and have the opportunity to influence and improve systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing year end accounts in accordance with SORP, managing all statutory reporting requirements, managing the SUN accounting system, reviewing and analysing key balances and managing banking and cash flow. You will also have overall management responsibility for payroll function, will take the lead in improving processes and controls across the UK finance function and ensuring that the UK Finance Team effectively liaises with the International Finance Team

The role involves a hands-on approach, with day-to-day leadership of a finance team of 3.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with strong organisational skills, proactive and solution-oriented with the ability to establish effective working relationships. Experience of working for a non-governmental organisation is desirable but not essential. With your self-motivated and flexible approach and your commitment to high quality standards, you will be keen to join our team and enhance our success in rebuilding the lives of those who still live with the deadly legacy of landmines and unexploded ordnance.
