Description:Overview of project

The projects Medair is currently implementing are a USAID/REACH BPHS programme for the Badakhshan Provincial districts of Ragh, Khwahan, Two Food Aid/food security projects in Badakhshan and Behsud, and a WatSan project in Behsud. Medair anticipates developing new projects in the Health and Water and Sanitation sectors and disaster preparedness / mitigation.

Responsibilities

• To effectively manage the water and sanitation projects in line with the objectives, budget and timeframe laid down in the current proposal.
• Ensure that beneficiary participation is enhanced in all phases of the project.
• To anticipate, plan, initiate and share in the development of new WatSan proposals.
• To recruit, manage & train National WatSan staff.
• Monitor need for additional WatSan projects in or near programme area.

Qualifications

• Higher level qualification in a technical field, preferably in water and sanitation
• BSc/MSc in Water, Hydrology, Environmental Engineering or Management desirable

Experience

• 2 years work experience post qualification

Medair standard working requirements for the field
• Minimum 12 months professional experience in a relevant field
• Minimum 3 months overseas work experience
• Committed Christians
• Strong adherence to Medair values
